Today has been a very interesting day. I started the morning by driving to work in the rain. During our drive, there were lightning strikes all around us, and Orion told me he wasn't scared because he knew that Zeus made the lightning and brought the rain. He then spent the rest of the trip to school asking me questions about the different Greek gods and heroes.
Then this evening was spent with a lovely couple, working on their wedding ceremony. Together, we created what I believe will be a beautiful ritual, and I am honored to be able to be able to perform this service for them. It will be my first wedding as an ADF priest, so I'm very excited for that as well. It is days like today that remind me that, even though there are times that I doubt myself, I actually AM doing the work of clergy. No matter how strange it seems, I'm marching steadily along the right path. Whether it's performing rituals for the public, talking to a news crew in the middle of Pagan Pride Day, providing services to members of the community, or educating my own child on the Old Gods, I know that I'm headed in the right direction in building a positive community, and that makes me happy!

The Spring begins with a planted seed,
a new beginning in the cycle. Nourished with sun and rain through the summer, growing and brining a potential future, Until the time the first harvest is brought in from the fields. Now the days grow shorter and colder. The fields are being repated and the fruits harvested. With these harvests, we celebrate the land, The sacrifices it has made, the gifts it has given, and the nourishment it will provide through the winter. May your own harvest be plentiful and sustain you through the cold and dark months ahead. May the love of your family, friends, and the Kindreds warm your heart and hearth always. |
